Authenticité, (or in English: Zairianisation), was an ideology created by Mobutu Sese Seko regime during 1960 - 1970, to authenticate and convert all the Western names to African names, including his name, Joseph-Desiré Mobutu to Mobutu Sese Seko Kuku Ngbendu Wa Za Banga.
He also changed the country's name, from Republic of the Congo to Republic of Zaire. And majorities of town's name. For instance: Léopoldville became Kinshasa, and
Stanleyville became Kisangan.
Not only that, Mobutu also asked his people to change western names to African names. And to protect his ideology, he would send priests to prison who baptise people with western names.
