You can switch the Windows user to another user without going through to Welcome Screen by go to 'Task Manager', then click the 'Users' tab. While you see the users list, you can right click on the selected user and select "Connect".
* To open 'Task Manager' quickly, hit "CTRL+ALT+DELETE".
