A terrible rumour says that Intel would directly planting processor into motherboard, it will make processor in the desktop PC cannot be upgraded. Intel users worry that if the rumour is true, they would need to change processor and the motherboard too. The first processor that will use that method is Broadwell, a new 14 nm chip will replace Land Grid Array (LGA) to be Ball Grid Array (BGA) which means that the processor cannot be replaced because it is soldered directly into the board.
The advantage of this method is that the processor will always in the good temperature and be simple like a smartphone or laptop. But this is will be a bad news for PC users who like to upgrade their PC hardware because the motherboard is very expensive part of the PC.
Until now, Intel has not responded yet to the rumour, but if so then it will be very profitable strategy for Intel and other PC component manufacturer.
